Our Founder and CEO
Nickeia Mason
Is the Founder and CEO of Delany Institute. As the founder and CEO she will focus on implementing initiatives focused on Progressive STEAM programs and expanding educational opportunities for youth throughout the community. With more than a decade of experience providing educational and youth focused services, she has worked extensively to support academic growth, personal development, and community engagement. Nickeia's leadership is rooted in a strong commitment to empowering young adults through innovative programming, mentorship, and strategic partnerships, ensuring they are equipped to be productive and successful adults.
The Delany Institute is name after our coveted Ancestor Martin Robert Delany who was a brilliant black freedman. Martin R Delany left a lasting legacy of excellence and commitment. He was an accomplished abolitionist, writer, and physician dedicated to uplifting his community through education, leadership, and public service. As one of the first Black men admitted to Harvard Medical School, he used his knowledge and influence to advocate for equal rights, community advancement, and self-reliance. Delany’s life reflected a deep commitment to progress, empowerment, and justice for his community. He was an early pioneer of the ideologies of self-sufficiency and self-determination. In honor of his legacy the Delany Institute was founded.
The Delany Institute is dedicated to closing the opportunity gap in STEAM education by providing programming, mentorship, and resources that empower young adults to reach their full potential while fostering creativity, innovation, and lifelong learning and growth.
